Quote
“In short, good exhibitions have a definite but not definitive point of view that invites serious analysis and critique, not only of the art but of the particular weights and measures used in its evaluation of the exhibition-maker. “
Exhibition quote
“……groundbreaking efforts have emerged from curators working independently as well as those affiliated with smaller galleries and museums or alternative spaces, where a quicker response time ,more curatorial autonomy, and less financially onerous stakes allow for a concomitantly greater ability to experiment and take risks “
What makes a great exhibition. Paula Marincola.
Beginning to realise some of the pros and cons of having an exhibition in a none traditional space.
1 although I have to negotiate with the buildings owners (the vicar ). I don’t have an experienced curator to rely on. The whole curatorial responsibility is on my shoulders. However, it does give me more freedom to have control over the work.
2 all the practical elements will be controlled by me. Titles, information, guest list, opening times, etc.
